Brazilian Pet Food Gains Access to the UAE Market

Brazilian pet food has gained access to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market following regulatory approval announced on September 1, 2026, by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The approval covers several product categories, including complete and complementary pet food, products for specific purposes, and chewable products for dogs and cats.

According to the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Brazil exported US$5.69 million worth of animal feed to the UAE in 2025. Pet food accounted for approximately 86.5% of this value, reaching around US$4.9 million.

The market opening creates new opportunities for Brazilian manufacturers seeking to work with UAE importers and distributors. However, exporters must still meet applicable regulatory requirements and confirm the eligibility of their products and facilities.

For UAE buyers, the development offers another potential sourcing option in the international pet food market.
